If you don’t know Juju & Jordash, you probably forgot to buy records for the last two years. Juju & Jordash, it’s the story of two friends who met in Haifa ( Israel ) ten years ago. Two guys linked by their Jazz background who slowly but certainly derived to electronic music. Now they’re not in Haifa anymore, they based their studio in Amsterdam and since 2005 they’ve been releasing music, always witha certain sense of humour. From their “Hush Ep” to their amazing “Techno Primitivism”, album the Israelian Duo always avoided the cliché of the dance music formats. They have an amazing feeling on their productions always sounding oldschool with a modern approach and some originals construction schemes. On stage with their lives full of analogic devices which put forward a real work of jamming and improvisation. They will do their first appearence in Paris next friday for the Clima’s Party, as curious fans regarding their work, their two awesome albums on Dekmantel, we asked them for a Phonocast. Jordash took care of it, and the result is unconventional but sounds brillant. Indeed, from the depitched beggining to the cinematic ending or the title which brings lot of questions about the aim of this short mix, it will for sure stay one of the most original ones we had the luck to publish. Si vous ne connaissez pas Juju & Jordash, c’est que vous avez probablement oublié d’aller chez le disquaire ces deux dernières années. Juju & Jordash , c’est l’histoire de deux potes qui se sont rencontrés il y a 10 ans à Haifa en Israel. Deux amis avec un bagage jazz qui ont lentement, mais sûrement, dérivé vers la musique électronique. A l’heure actuelle, ils ne sont plus à Haifa. Ils ont basé leur studio à Amsterdam et depuis 2005, ils produisent de la musique avec un certain sens de l’humour et de la décontraction. De leur premier Ep “Hush” à leur remarquable album ” Techno Primitivism”, ils n’ont eu cesse d’éviter les clichés de la dance musique. Leurs talents de musiciens se reflètent dans leurs productions qui sonnent oldschool , mais toujours avec une approche moderne et des constructions originales. Sur scène, leur live avec toutes leurs machines met en avant un vrai travail de jam et d’improvisation. Juju & Jordash feront leur premier live à Paris vendredi prochain à l’occasion de la soirée Clima. En tant que curieux fan, je leur ai demandé un Phonocast. Jordash s’en est chargé, le résultat sort de l’ordinaire. En effet, du début dépitché à la fin cinématique en passant par son titre qui soulève beaucoup de questions sur son but, ce mix sera pour sûr l’un des Phonocast les plus originaux que nous aurons eu la chance de publier.
